Film Review
Production
X-Men Origins: Wolverine not only delivers a wide array of special effects and action but it has a solid story that will please the viewer who is looking for a greater amount of satisfaction; not just another comic book based movie. It carefully blends a story of sibling rivalry, romantic entanglements, and vengeance that offers a variety of viewers something to grasp onto while watching. It also has a decent amount of humor when you least expect it that is a welcome relief from the highly serious and dramatic storyline.
Special Effects
The implementation of the special effects in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is done incredibly well but they are nothing new for the viewer. If you have seen any of the prior X-men films you will find it is just more of the same. In addition, the majority of the main characters in the film do not have mutations that require a great deal of effects to make them come to life. These characters mutations are simple and not very exciting for the viewer to encounter. If you are expecting a large factor you will be disappointed.
Sound
Given the high dose of drama and action in X-Men Origins: Wolverine one would expect the sound to grab you by the throat and throw you into it all. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The sound is practically non-existent during the action and special effects sequences making them a grave disappointment as your aural engagement is limited.
Action Sequences
The action in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is spread out and moderate. There are quite a few sequences that will excite the viewer but the film is more focused on story instead of action. When the action does occur though it is highly satisfying and not drawn out; the scenes are relatively short but highly effective.
