Disney made some exciting announcements today at Cinemacon in regards to the upcoming slate of films from Pixar. Three titles were announced, and they are as follows:
The Good Dinosaur
From the co-director and writer of Up, Bob Peterson is bringing to the big screen the story of what would have happened if an asteroid never hit earth and the dinosaurs did not become extinct, as a comedy of course. A premise like that in the hands of one of Pixar’s best it is definitely something to look forward to when it is released May 30, 2014–if only it was sooner, right?
The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside The Mind
Wow, that non-title is quite a mouthful. Well, the film promises to take viewers on a journey to incredible worlds that include: the darkest depths of the ocean; the tepui mountains in South America; and into a fictional Monstropolis, as well as outer space. But the one thing it also promises, that leaves you begging for more information, is the promise to go where no one has ever been…inside the human mind! Leave it to Pixar to take everything one-step further, and make it amazing no less. At the helm of this endeavor is Director Pete Docter (Academy Award winning Director of Up, Monsters, Inc.), and may he be successful in this endeavor when it is released June 19, 2015.
The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dia de los Muertos
We have another untitled long-title here, but at least we know exactly what it is about, the holiday Dia de los Muertos. There isn’t any other information about the future film available, except that the filmmaking team behind Toy Story 3, director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson, are bringing this story to life. I’m sure it had you roped in the minute you read Toy Story 3.
That does it for the upcoming slate for Pixar via today’s announcement. We all now have to sit and ponder how amazing these three films will be, for the next five years or so–oh, the anticipation!
